  Yes, I use it most weeks to help me analyse data from telescopes or do complicated calculations. Most os the time you use software that other scientists or programmers have written, but sometimes you need to do something for your self because no-one else has done it. Right now I’m writing a programme to predict how bright a comet gets if it falls almost straight into the Sun.
