• Question: when you are being sucked into a black hole is it possible to throw a rope through and be pulled out.

      No – the gravity of a black hole is so strong that nothing can escape it. This includes the rope!

      Nope, the rope wouldn’t be strong enough. And if you’re very close to the black hole, its been proved that to would be impossible to escape by any way you can think of!

      Good question! In every black hole there is a place called the Event Horizon, and this is the point at which you can’t get back if you’ve gone past this point. Nothing can get past this point, not people, ladders, or even light.

      So if you were being sucked into a black hole and you hadn’t gone past this point then yes you could still get out, but you’d need a really strong piece of rope. However, if you’d gone past this point then you’d never be able to get out unfortunately!
