Question: When can I have a robot butler?

It depends how rich you are! Robots have already been developed to do a lot of tasks however I don’t think we’re quite at the point where people will have one robot butler to help them in everything. The most recent robot I’ve seen was on BBC breakfast news the other day (http://www.robothespian.co.uk/) where its makers have focused on robot-human interactions. Last May there was also a news story about a robot that did perform butler-type tasks and was able to anticipate what its human would want, like pouring you a drink before you’d finished yours! It was quite clunky and nothing like robots in sci-fi movies though. But like I said, these robots will be expensive. If you have a few hundreds of thousands of pounds you could get a robot-butler now but it wouldn’t be able to do anything. I’d say wait about 10 years and you might find one that will work for you!
