Good question! One thing I’d like to achieve is inspiring the next generation of scientists.

At my University every year I teach over two hundred physics and astronomy students. Just this morning I was interviewing students that have applied to study for a PhD with me.

I’m really happy when students I have taught go on to become scientists – I work with some for years afterwards!

If I look at my careers, I’ve been a scientist for a long time. Every year I make more measurements and find out more things, and that is true for most scientists. That’s one of the main reasons why science is so great to do.
