This is a tough question as there genuinely are so many things that I could say!
Science helps explain things and as someone that likes to ask ‘how and why?’ all the time it really is satisfying to get answers (even if they’re not the ones you’re expecting!). I think the thing I most enjoy about the actual science I’m doing is that it’s new and no one has done exactly what I’m doing before, I will be working out an answer to a problem that no one has solved yet and knowing that makes every day at work feel exciting!
I love the fact that we get to do what we love, and get paid for that.
I love that we can work in our own time, and dont have to sit in an office from 9-5.
I love to find something none has found before, or see something none has seen before, even though it is not a big discovery.
I love that I get to interact with people like you, and can tell them how awesome doing science is 😉
Wow, how do I choose just one thing? Maybe it’s that I’m studying particles that have been flying through space ever since the Universe began with the Big Bang.
Wow, that’s a difficult question. I guess the most enjoyable thing is that as a scientist, I enjoy investigating ideas about how stuff works in our Universe. The best bit is when you solve a puzzle or find something unexpected. That gets really exciting!
I love being away to learn new things every day, because there are so many interesting things out there. The Universe is such an amazing and beautiful place its wonderful to be able to study it and learn about it every day!
