• Question: I have had a lot of influence in my family from graphene and was wondering if you use it in astronomy for any materials or if things are being developed?

We don’t use grapheme yet, but scientists are find out out amazing things about this material. I’m sure in ten or twenty years we’ll be using it in all sorts of technology.

It reminds me of silicon. For a while we just thought of silicon as a useful element for making computers. But about 40 years ago some scientists worked out how to make it sensitive to light. After about ten years we managed to get it to work in cameras on telescopes. And now everyone uses it to take pictures in their digital cameras and on their phones!
