Not at all, though you should study some science! I was interested in physics and maths so I studied those, but I also studied history and drama because I enjoy acting. During your GCSE’s you have lots of choices for things to study so it can be good to try different things so you can find out what you enjoy. Then when you do your A-levels you can specialise a bit more, but you can still do extra subjects. The most important thing is that you study the things you enjoy – if that’s science then great, but if you also enjoy learning languages or studying geography then that’s great too!

You’ll need to study science at school to become a scientist. But the great thing about science is that you can study many different subjects that interest you. Like Nick says, you should study the subjects you like!

But to become a scientist you will need to study science at College or University. When you get there you normally only pick a single subject, although sometimes you can study two at the same time like physics and maths.
