• Question: Have you ever been to the Hadron Collider? Is it as big or bigger than you expected?

      Yes, I work with it! You know it is big, because all of us have seen pictures, but when you stand infront of a detector like ATLAS, it seems bigger than you imagined!

      Yes! I couldn’t go and see the detectors though, because the collider was running for all the time as was there 🙁

      I have and its amazing! I visited it about 10 years ago when it was being contracted so I got to see all the different parts before they were put into place. It was really amazing because everything is so big it just seems unbelievable. They were building this really big detector called ATLAS at the time and they were about to put it underground so they’d had to build a really big hole that went from the surface to the huge tunnels underground when the particle detectors were.

      If you ever get the chance to visit CERN, or any other large scientific laboratory, I suggest you take the chance! Some science experiments like this are really large and its amazing to see them!
