Yes, we have mapped many black holes in our galaxy for example. Right now astronomers are watching a gas cloud approach a black hole that is 3 million times more massive than our sun, so see what happens!

Some scientists have speculated that a black hole could lead to another part of the Universe, or even a different Universe if they exist! But no-one yet has found a proof that they do lead anywhere. All we know is that we will never be able to go near them, because any astronaut would be killed long before they get close to the centre.

Yes! We have lots of evidence that black holes exist. For example, we can see how other stars are affected by their huge gravitational pull. Most scientists think that black holes don’t lead anywhere at all – anything that falls into a black hole simply gets squashed and becomes part of the black hole!

Yes black holes do exist, but they don’t lead you anywhere except to inside the black hole. Black holes are dense and compact dead stars whose gravity is so strong that nothing can escape their pull and so everything that gets pulled onto the black hole is stuck there forever.
