Tricky one! Scientists have certainly made many advances in treating cancer, and the treatments are getting better all the time. Some scientists are hopeful that one day we might be able to cure it all together.

The problem is that cancer isn’t really just one disease. Breast cancer is very different to bone cancer, for example. Even one kind of cancer can be very different from person to person too. So we don’t know whether it will be possible to develop a cure for all these different kinds of cancer.

I hope so. Many diseases have been beaten or controlled in the last 100 years, and advances are made in treating different types of cancer all the time. It would be good if the next generation of scientists, now studying at school, could make sen more advances in this area.

Hopefully we will 🙂 a lot of money and research is going into understanding all of the different types of cancers, how they form, grow and spread. So once we work out all of that I think we have a good chance at beating cancer in the future. They key to it all would be early diagnosis, so spotting the symptoms early, as then we have a much better chance at getting rid of it altogether. I doubt there will be one cure that fixes everyone but we should be able to build up lots of different ways to cure the different types.

Yes I hope so, because cancer is such a horrible illness and it kills so many people every year. But it’ll be a lot of hard work because its a very complex illness and there are lots of different varieties.
