Of course, but it is already, right?

The idea of teaching science in school is not that everyone will become a scientist (but that would be cool too!) but everyone will learn scientific thought process, which will help you everyday life! It really helps when you can take a good decision about where to shop because you are good at math, or which food to buy because you can understand what the ingredients at the back of the packet mean.

Yes, and it should stay that way!

Science helps us understand the world around us, why things happen and how things happen.

It doesn’t tell us everything of course, like why people like being tickled or why people fall in love.

But without science, there would be no electricity, no tv, no plastic, not even any internet!

Like Deepak says, it’s useful in all sorts of ways. If nothing else, it can show us how to investigate things properly and come to the right decision.

Absolutely and I’m glad it is! Science is so important to how we look at problems and how we can understand the things around us. Also the way you find out answers to problems in science is a very important skill, it teaches us to look at things based on evidence which you can do in all sorts of other instances.

Absolutely yes! I think it’s great that science is such a big part of school, hopefully including lots of experiments! Although not everyone will become a scientist, it’s really important that everyone has the opportunity to learn science and understand the world around them. Science directly impacts everyone’s lives. For example, you might want to understand how to live healthily or what you can do to slow down climate change. Or you might just want to be able to look up at the stars and understand a little bit more about them!

Definitely! Science is incredibly useful in the modern world, and whatever you do when you grow up I think it’s important that you know that. You might go on to be a scientist in which case it’ll be useful for you to have studied science now, or even if you don’t go on to be a scientist there are so many important issues in the modern world that rely on science it’ll be really useful for you to understand those issues!
