Actually, I do. I am more in work-mood when I am here, and can also exchange ideas with my colleagues. At home, I feel more like watching TV or browse facebook!
Yep. Like other scientists I spend a lot of time in my office working on data on my computer, or performing calculations to try and understand my data.
But several times a year I’ll be away in another country at a meeting with other scientists. Once or twice a year I’ll be at a telescope on a mountain, using the cameras on it to take pictures and data that I’ll measure back in the office.
Yes I do, I have an office at the University where I work, but I also spend a lot of time at telescopes around the world in far away places, and I also get to travel for conferences a lot. One of the things I like a lot about science is that I get to travel and see the world and meet people doing science in different countries.
My office is my lab so at one end of the room is desks and computers and at the other is the lab benches and equipment. So technically I’m always in my office and always in my lab! I probably spend about 70% of my time at my lab bench and 25% at desk (the other 5% is having tea and coffee elsewhere!) but that can change depending what I’m doing 🙂
