• Question: Do you ever think that we will be able to clone humans easily? If so, then about how long will this take?

      Yes, I think it is possible! I even think it could be done today. Not easily though and I’m sure there would be many problems in that cloned person’s life that we can’t even imagine today. When we cloned Dolly the sheep we were surprised she died younger then expected and then we learnt something new about the structure of the ends of DNA and understood why. Humans are incredibly complex beings and no doubt if we were to clone a human we would discover new hurdles and problems. It is actually illegal by law in the UK to clone a human and the ethical issues behind it are enormous. I would always ask why we would even want to clone a person? It would be unfair to do it just for the sake of showing that we can and if the cloned person had medical problems that we can’t predict then that would be incredibly unfair on them as well. Many scientists believe it is possible but really shouldn’t be done, however some scientists think that some countries may have already tried it without telling anyone… a scary thought!
