In theory yes they could, but we don’t know how the cloned person would grow and develop. In theory they should be like a twin of the person they are cloned from, but we don’t know for sure. Because of this there are very strong laws to stop scientists cloning people.

Theoretically yes, but it has already been made illegal before it was completely plausible. Alan is right though, we wouldn’t know enough about how that person would grow old and whether they would have medical problems we don’t even know about yet. When we cloned Dolly the sheep we thought everything was fine but she dies of old age problems even though she was still young for her age, which made us rethink a lot. As humans are so complicated, if we tried to clone one we would probably find new problems we haven’t even thought about yet too!
