Mostly because I get to do what I like, look at new things, interact with a bunch of really smart but friendly people (i.e other scientists!), and can work at my won pace.

Also there are additional non-science benefits. I get to visit Geneva, and have been to many amazing places because there were conferences.

I really like finding out new things! I think being a scientist is a bit like being a wizard, because it lets me predict what will happen in different situations 🙂 (Not all situations of course – some things like people are too complicated to be predict what they will do.)

Because it’s a way of understanding what we see happening in our world and our Universe.

I always find it amazing that we can understand everything from how cells divide to how the universe began. Science already gives us lots of answers, and as a scientists we can find more answers to questions we have.

I love learning about new things, which is part of what science is all about. And if there is something I want to understand but nobody knows about it then my job as a scientist is to design an experiment to work it out!

I have always asked why? and how? since I was an child so science is just something I fell into because it was what I was doing anyway! WE ask questions every day and then get to try and work out new was of answering them which is really cool. People who love science normally love trying to understand everything around them so I guess that’s why I love it. It’s a journey of discovery!
