      The Moon is 250,000 miles away, or 400,000 kilometres.

      The Moon is about 240,000 miles away, which in astronomical terms is actually quite close! Most of the other things you can see in the sky are much more distant.

      Despite that the Moon is the only thing in the sky that we’ve visited – isn’t that a shame?
